Industry Participation

Dibbs are the honorary lawyers to the Overseas Bankers Association of Australia.

We are also active members of Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia (IPAA) and the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Professionals (INSOL).

Dibbs currently holds a representative position on the ASIC Financial Services Reform Consultative Committee.

A member of our Group was appointed a joint editor of Weaver and Craigie Banking Law and Practice, which is the principal Australia Text.

Seminars

Our Group has held speaking roles at numerous seminars for the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia, the Sydney Chamber of Commerce and other external industry seminar providers on a variety of insolvency issues.

We have also supported numerous industry participants and clients through in-house training and education programs, including for Deloittes, KPMG, Korda Mentha, Pilot Partners, Grant Thornton, Vouris and Bell, Lawler Partners, and SimsPartners on related matters.

Other participation

Dibbs had the honour of being invited to take part in a consultative group established by the then Attorney General, The Hon Philip Ruddock MP. The role of the committee was to assist the Attorney General to develop a single national law concerning personal property securities. The committee is continuing its work under the new government.

A member of our Group recently chaired a panel presentation on international developments in insolvency law at the 2008 Annual Conference of the Inter Pacific Bar Association.
