Planning and Development
Macquarie Bank and TQM joint venture
Acting for the joint venture in relation to a $110 million development to design and construct a 120 residential apartments in Pymble, Sydney, involving joint venture agreements, development agreements as well as financial management and construction documentation.
Stockland
Acting for Stockland in the relocation of Optus’ Australian Headquarters to 84,000 square metres of commercial office space in the $350 million Centre Court estate at North Ryde including real estate development, construction, and management and leasing documentation.
CEMEX
Acting in relation to all Australian property needs in relation to acquisitions, leasing, disposals, and development and option arrangements.
Leasing
DEXUS
Acting in relation to commercial leasing and industrial leasing including numerous complex and non stream agreements for leases and leases.
Stockland
Optus Centre Court - Acting for Stockland in one of the largest ever commercial leasing deals in Australia. The transaction involved the development of commercial campus and the relocation of Optus’ Australian Headquarters to 84,000 square metres of commercial office space in the $350 million Centre Court estate at North Ryde including real estate development, construction, management and leasing documentation.
Fairfax
Acting in relation to the relocation of its Australian headquarters including the negotiation of a whole of building lease and all attendances and advices in relation to the fit out of the building and related planning issues. Acting nationally for John Fairfax in relation to all its property related legal matters
Construction, Major Projects and PPPs
Meadowbank Waterpoint Development
Advising in relation to the construction contracts and consultancy agreements for the Waterpoint development near Homebush. Our client asked us to amend and review all of its construction and consultancy documents and ultimately led to us advising on various construction issues. Over 600 apartments were constructed in this project, including a commercial development.
M5 Business Park
Advising in relation to the construction contracts of medium density business park construction on behalf of a principal. We are amending contracts and reviewing them for compliance with laws and specifically amended the Australian Standard 2124-1992 agreement to accord to a principal’s risk profile.
Council of the City of Sydney
Acting for the Council in relation to a number of major civic improvements projects including the Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre, the Customs House Redevelopment Project and the Oxford Street Upgrade project
Property Funds Management
APGF
Advised Australian Property Growth Fund on the merger of its $100 million APGF Diversified Property Fund with its $30 million APGF Property Syndicate 2000.
Dispute Resolution
Goodman
Advising major listed property trust on a variety of issues/ disputes including:

Colgate Palmolive
Advising Colgate Palmolive in relation to the development of its Balmain factory site into residential units from the time of refusal by Leichhardt Council of development approval including:

Workplace Relations
Manufacturer of heavy machinery
Advising on a restructure resulting in a large number of redundancies. We successfully advised our client how to negotiate with the union involved to avoid industrial action and to avoid any scrutiny for unfair dismissal or discrimination claims on the selection process.
General Corporate
Major Australian property developer
Acting for a major Australian property developer in assisting with broad acre acquisition and subdivision, display village agreements and planning issues. These transactions have been subject to tight timeframes, particularly in relation to the land subdivision. It is a key performance criterion to ensure the contracts were user-friendly for the agents who were signed up the purchasers.
Stockland
Acting for Stockland in negotiating development agreements for larger commercial and industrial buildings
Sustainable Energy Development Authority
Advising on corporate governance and probity issues, including directors’ duties, the establishment of accreditation systems and tender processes.
Weir Warman (formerly Warman International)
Acting since 1986, providing intellectual property and technology licensing advice to including handling major copyright/confidential information litigation in Australia and in Canada, India, Malaysia, Netherlands, South Africa, UK and USA.
Mergers and Acquisitions
United Equipment
Acting for United Equipment in the due diligence and acquisition of Wagmac Forklifts, Skymaster, DFS Holdings and Western Forklifts.
Jeminex
Advising on the acquisition of 10 separate businesses by Jeminex over the last 12 months for a total consideration exceeding $110m.
Renewable Energies
Acting for one of energies leading systems suppliers in the area of regenerative energies with net sale revenue exceeding €700million on its Australian acquisitions on joint venture projects
