The Brisbane office of national law firm DibbsBarker continues to strengthen its property and projects team with the appointment of two planning specialists, partner, Linda Morris and special counsel, Danyelle Kelson.
Previously from a large Queensland-based law firm, Linda and Danyelle practise exclusively in the areas of planning, local government and environmental law. Together they bring over 40 years of experience acting for private and public sector clients in major development and infrastructure projects.
In addition to extensive experience in the conduct of Planning and Environment Court litigation, Linda and Danyelle regularly provide advice on development applications and approvals, the interpretation of planning schemes and related legislation to those operating within the development industry. The duo also has specialist skills in relation to resumption, compensation and valuation matters.
Linda commented that she is enthusiastic about joining a firm which continues to grow and strengthen: “I was drawn to the firm because of its collaborative and collegiate approach to managing clients and I am keen to broaden the legal service offering to those clients. I look forward to developing relationships with them.”
Matthew Rollason, national Property Industry Head at DibbsBarker says the new appointments “signify our continuing commitment to providing clients and the wider market with end-to-end property development expertise, a diversified offering and a building on our core strengths.”
Managing partner Lee Bickley says the Brisbane partnership, and indeed the national property and projects group, are pleased with the enhancement of DibbsBarker’s capabilities in the new Brisbane appointments, as well as the Sydney office gaining another partner in property specialist and 2009 Woman Lawyer of Year nominee, Kylie Matthews. “The arrival of Linda and Danyelle increases the Brisbane property and projects group to 20 lawyers including 5 partners. With expertise in property, construction, finance and planning our team will continue to guide clients through the highs and lows of the property industry cycle”, he said.
