Penny is a partner in the Planning & Environment team and the practice group leader of the wider Real Estate & Construction group.
Penny has advised both private and public sector clients across various industries on planning, environment and government matters since 1999. Penny has developed specialist skills advising on the planning and environmental approvals process, environmental impact assessment, due diligence for acquisitions, lending and divestments, environmental regulation and enforcement and valuation of land.
Penny also has extensive experience handling litigious matters relating to development appeals, resumption and valuation, civil enforcement, Aboriginal land right claims and environmental prosecutions in the Land and Environment Court.
Penny holds a Bachelor of Science (Resource & Environmental Management) from Macquarie University. She also regularly presents seminars and authors articles on a range of topics including environmental compliance, pollution, contamination and planning reform.
Penny has been recognised by her peers as a 'Best Lawyer' for Planning & Environment Law in Best Lawyers Peer Review Australia since 2012. She is a member of the National Environmental Law Association and the Urban Development Industry Association (Planning and Regulatory Affairs Policy Standing Committee).
